to the close links existing between the
Italian Chambers of Commerce and local
enterprises, Chambers play a crucial role
in the promotion of technology transfer.
The technical support they provide to
businesses with a view to helping them
in solving tangible operational problems
can be considered one of the promotional
activities carried out by the Italian
Chambers of Commerce. In fact, through
Dintec (a consortium established by Unioncamere
and ENEA), they can provide advanced information
technology.
The network of Technology
Information Desks of the Chambers
of Commerce was set up with a view to
increasing the SME awareness of the advantages
entailed by the use of advanced technologies
for the enhancement of their competitiveness
in Italian and international markets.
Chambers provide SMEs with the following
services:
information concerning compliance with
technical standards for product quality,
energy saving and environmental protection
purposes;
organisation of workshops on topical issues;
organisation of customised visits to businesses,
with a view to providing answers and tangible
solutions to problems.
The implementation of advanced IT solutions
allows the Chambers of Commerce being
a network promoting and enhancing the
dissemination of technology innovation.
The
DIRCE
- "Spreading of Innovation and Research
for Economic Competitiveness" - Project
- is a pilot project leaded by the Guglielmo
Tagliacarne Institute, which was mandated
by the Ministry for Education, University
and Research. The aforesaid project, aiming
at supporting and enhancing the SME innovation
potential, supports the enterprises located
in Southern Italy in enhancing their technological
resources, also facilitating R&D investments
and developing the SME ability to operate
Europewide and internationally.
