| In
order to promote the foreign trade of
national products, the Chambers of Commerce,
either directly or through the foreign
Centres they are members of, and the suitably
established special Agencies, organise
and promote the participation of small
and medium-sized enterprises in the main
international fairs. In collaboration
with the National Institute for Foreign
Trade, they organise initiatives aiming
at favouring the Italian commercial inclusion
in the main foreign markets. They organise
business missions of Italian operators
abroad, and provide hospitality to foreign
operators visiting the various Italian
provinces, in order to favour business
relations among entrepreneurs.
In this
action of search for new outlets for domestic
production in foreign markets, the Chambers
of Commerce and the other active subjects
of the chambers system often act in the
framework of the promotional programme
developed by the Ministry of Productive
Activities, whose implementation is mainly
entrusted to the national institute for
foreign trade.
In order to favour foreign trade for small
and medium enterprises in particular,
Euro Info Centres were established by
the European Union. Such desks are at
the disposal of the general public and
were established in Italy within the Chambers
of Commerce. They provide enterprises
with assistance on European regulations,
on community, national and regional financing
opportunities, and European programmes
and projects for small and medium-sized
enterprises.
