| The
Commission of the European Union established
a network of Euro Info Centres (EICs),
with a view to providing small and medium-sized
enterprises with information and support,
and favour their operations both in the
European and in international markets.
Euro Info Centres are available to the
general public, and their skilled personnel
provide support and information, also
making use of a wide data communication
network connecting numerous databases.
Euro Info Centres are located in the premises
of the organisations authorised by the
European Union, including Chambers of
Commerce. In fact, in Italy, many EICs
are located in the premises of the Chambers
of Commerce.
EICs provide
businesses with information concerning
European regulations, EU, national and
regional funding opportunities, and European
projects for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Moreover, EICs provide information relating
to EU and international calls for tenders,
on the single currency, and on opportunities
for cooperation among SMEs.
Euro Info Centres are part of a network
aiming at disseminating information, making
data available for whoever may be interested
or may request it
