Import and export activities can be carried out by both sole proprietors and companies. Sole Proprietors must not only register with the Business Register, but also ask the Chamber of Commerce for their computerised code and fill in the relevant questionnaire.
The System including all businesses carrying out foreign trade (Sdoe) is so run by InfoCamere.

The Filing System consists of two sections, with the first one containing business registration data (name, statutory structure, capital, headquarters location, computerised code, any bank detail, and so on). The other section includes business data (such as business sector, type of products dealt with, import-export turnover by product, import and export weights, etc.).

This System allows online access to the data concerning single businesses. Moreover, it allows printing lists of selected companies based on their business features or geographical location.
